Bergamot Infuser Granules
R135.00
Dried bergamot oranges have a unique and distinctive taste and smell, combining notes of citrus with a floral and spicy undertone.
Taste:
Citrus Tartness: The flavour is sharp and tangy, with a strong citrus bite reminiscent of sour oranges or lemons, but more complex.
Floral and Bitter Notes: Unlike typical oranges, bergamot has a slightly bitter taste with floral hints, making it somewhat perfumed on the palate.
Herbal and Spicy: It can also have faint herbal or spicy undertones, similar to aromatic spices like clove or cardamom.
Smell:
Citrus Freshness: The scent of dried bergamot is intensely citrusy, with a zesty quality.
Floral Aroma: There’s a noticeable floral fragrance, which gives it a more delicate and sophisticated scent compared to regular oranges.
Earthy and Woody: When dried, bergamot develops a deeper, earthy aroma that adds warmth, somewhat similar to the smell of dried herbs or wood.
This aromatic complexity is why bergamot is used in teas like Earl Grey and perfumes and holds several healthy benefits for the consumer.
